One of the finest villages in Suffolk
The Parish Council is an elected body comprising eight Councillors who ensure that the village is efficiently and economically run, using a proportion of the annual Council Tax income. The Parish Council is the first tier of Local Government and has a number of statutory powers that it is allowed to exercise.
The Parish Council aims to help safeguard the community in which you live, by helping to maintain or guarding amenities such as rights of way (e.g. footpaths), bus shelters, the war memorial, public benches, the village green, play areas, the village sign, the Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS) units as well as provisions for litter and dog bins. It also provides a village newsletter to keep villagers up to date on local news and events and offers local businesses an opportunity to advertise their services.
The Council meets every month except for August and December, generally on the third Tuesday of the month at 18:30 at the Village Hall to discuss current village issues. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and have the opportunity to raise any topic, issue or suggestion to the Council for consideration. District and County Councillors are often in attendance as well as other representatives from the village.
Meeting arrangements and agendas are displayed on the website and the central notice board outside the Village Hall. The Parish Clerk ensures that parishioners are advised of council meetings as well as Parish and District Council and Parliamentary Elections.
If anyone wishes to raise any issues for discussion, please feel free to come along to a meeting or email the Clerk, who will raise an item on your behalf: clerk@fornhamallsaintsparish.gov.uk
